EXHIBITION: 24th Nov. to 1st Dec. at St Bartholomew's Church Centre, Front Street, Newbiggin
Daily from 12noon - 4pm, Saturdays from 11am-4pm, Tuesday and Thursday 12noon till 8pm
THANKS FOR TAKING PART! SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER - PLEASE KEEP YOUR IMAGES COMING IN. GIVE THEM TO PRIDE OF NORTHUMBRIA, THE LIBRARY OR THE SPORTS CENTRE, OR EMAIL THEM TO US FROM THIS SITE. PLEASE INCLUDE A SUBMISSION FORM. YOU ARE NOT TOO LATE TO SUBMIT PHOTOGRAPHS!
The project will result in three direct outcomes:
- A quality hardback book, approx 160pp full colour (December 07 launch)
- A web site featuring hundreds of images organised into 12 x 2 hour galleries (ongoing from September 07)
- An exhibition held in the village over one week, and touring old people’s homes, schools and elsewhere as required – 30 x enlatged images plus 3 x digital projectors showing continuous slideshows of images)
The book will contain around 200 selected images taken by Newbiggin residents and visitors on a single day.
The web site and exhibition will show many more images. It’s our intention to select at least one image from every person taking part, to feature in these special interactive galleries.
In March 2008, Woodhorn Colliery Musiem will host the exhibition for one month.
If you would like to host the exhibition, or suggest where it could be shown, please contact us.
Funding and Support
This project would not be possible without the enthusiasm and generous support of a number of organisations and individuals, including Westminster Dredging Company, Newbiggin Life,
Wansbeck District Council, Coalfields Regeneration Trust, Sound Ideas, Pride of Northumbria,
INSPIRE, Newbiggin Arts Forum.
If you would like to help support this project, we still need funding and offers of help to make it happen, and be the success we know it can be.
If you would like to make a donation toward the project costs we would very much like to talk to you. Your support will be acknowledged in all publicity, and listed in the book, web site and exhibition materials. Any contribution is extremely welcome. Contact us on 01670 810370 to talk about ways you might be able to help. |
