The Newbiggin Exhibition Feedback - collected from some of the 400-500 visitors to the exhibition I thought this show was amazing! Some very moving work as well as light hearted stuff. I love the photo of the old chap in his sitting room holding a boat. You really get the notion of his life and connection to the area. Very potent work, loved it. Some stunning photos with a wide variety reflecting life around the village. Maybe more sport could have been featured. Congratulations. J S Ferguson Wonderful photos, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful people, and wonderful community spirit. Absolutely brilliant, worth all the hard work. A very interesting exhibition. I would have liked to see more of Newbiggin – the bay, St Bartholomew’s etc. Some photos obviously ‘posed’. I like the atmosphere in most. I think the pics are so good, I can’t decide. Very good. We love Newbiggin. Great fun with the some fantastic images. Ann Cooper Very informative and unusual – Great Idea. Great idea, wonderful shots. A credit to the organisers. A very good capture of daily life around Newbiggin. Very good, well done. The exhibition of photos is excellent and gives outlook of everyday life in Newbiggin. Excellent 10/10. I love the picture of the bedroom with telly, empty dinner plate, feet etc. I love the pictures of grass with dewdrops, also the lady on the rocks with brolley, and the lady in the lounge lying on the cooch!!!! With the pooch!! My favourite of all is the back yard gate leading up the garden path. A special mention also to the Yorkshire puddings, the three guys from the Indian restaurant, not to forget Ian in his diddy car on the prom. Regards, Frank Oldham. Outstanding effort. P Eltringham Fantastic Job! I get a real feel for Newbiggin from those pictures. M.G. Amazingly impressed. Couldn’t believe such interesting and brilliant work/art could come from Newbiggin. More please… Excellent community effort. Well done Newbiggin. Ian Leech Great event, beautiful pictures – real sense of community spirit. Well done! Even more, excellent, much better, cause it was groovy. A very interesting exhibition. Congratulations to those who organised it and to those who’s photos are exhibited. Excellent photos- specially the one of the men using the urinal, it made us all laugh! What can I say? Excellent! David Bailey eat your heart out. Both Mary and I have very much enjoyed all the photos. You get a different aspect of the ‘Village’. WELL DONE. Percy. A snapshot of our colourful village. VERY CREATIVE. EXCELLENT! A stunning selection of photos. A true reflection of a normal ‘day in the life’ of the village. Amazing that so many took part, when you consider the weather on the day of the project. Fantastic exhibition! Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next. Stephen Gray, Christchurch. Well done, nice to see all parts of Newbiggin life. Congratulations – what a fantastic idea – very well executed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Very Very Good. Most interesting and some very professional. Mike and Pam Williams Well done to a group of people who never get mentioned (the back room group). Lovely exhibition. Kind Regards, Muriel and Bob Easton A very wonderful display of photographs showing different aspects of social life in NEWBIGGIN . Well done to those who took part. Excellent, not one bad photo. Well done everyone. Mr & Mrs Brown. Very enjoyable, Thank you. The men on the loo are very funny and made me laugh. Abigail Forman Aged 4 V Cowell, Good angles on some, but could have been anywhere – disappointing. BRILL Very inclusive, well done! Thank you very much for a wonderful opportunity, which made me feel a part of a project – but also, a part of a community! I think that this photographic project created not only the photographs, but also opportunities for people to be active agents, express their daily life, feelings, to document and to see their life through the medium of photograph and to communicate with photographs and talk to others through the exhibition. I think that these experiences created a positive energy indeed for the people and the community. Something wonderful has come out of an awful miserable summer’s day and certainly put Newbiggin on the map. Let’s hope this is the beginning of something special for the whole community. I liked the one with the lady taking the Yorkshires out of the oven. Emily Forman Aged 7 As a “Newbigginer” and now living in the South – it was such a pleasure to see my village in such a positive light. Well done everyone. Jill Martin Gray. I really like the picture of the sand that said “I love Newbiggin” Mega Forman Aged 9 I found it very disappointing. I do not feel we needed to see children in the bath, or men using the toilets, or the picture of toilets and also too many pictures of puds!!! This does not show Newbiggin as we who live in it, see it. What an excellent show!!! A credit to everyone, both the participants and all of the organisers. Very impressive, the talent is obvious. (better than an untidy bed in the Tate!!!) Does everyone go to the pub or club in Newbiggin?? I can’t believe this was the only choices – too many on the same theme. Toilets, pubs and cooking photos. I feel this does not show Newbiggin to its best and will not encourage visitors. Excellent exhibition, TALK OF NEWBIGGIN, this week. C.A.
